Privacy Policy

What we collect

We collect:

• Your account email address, used for sign-in and communication.
• The audio or video files you upload, and any transcript text you paste in.
• The study content Readcture generates from your lectures (chapters, summaries, questions).
• Usage data needed to enforce the free-tier monthly limit — specifically, how many minutes of audio you've had processed each calendar month.

How we use it

We use this data to:

• Provide the core service — transcribing your lectures and generating study content from them.
• Enforce usage limits on the free tier (and, once available, paid-tier limits).
• Understand and improve the quality and reliability of the service.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use your uploaded content to train our own models.

Third parties we share data with

To provide the service, parts of your data are processed by the following third parties, each acting as a processor for the specific task listed:

• Deepgram — receives uploaded audio/video to transcribe it into text.
• Anthropic (Claude API) — receives lecture transcripts to generate the textbook or summary content.
• Supabase — stores your account, authentication session, transcripts, and generated content, and provides sign-in.
• Razorpay — processes subscription payments for the paid tier; we do not see or store your full payment card details ourselves.

We don't share your data with anyone beyond what's needed to run the service.

Data retention

Your uploaded content and generated study material are kept until you delete the individual project, or until you delete your account, at which point associated data is removed. Some transcripts may be kept in a shared, de-identified cache (not linked to your account) to avoid re-transcribing identical audio for other users — this cache contains no personal information about who uploaded it.

Your rights

You can, at any time:

• Access the data we hold about you and your projects.
• Delete individual projects, or your entire account and associated data.
• Export your generated content (as PDF, Word, or plain text) at any time from Recent Projects.

To request account-level access, export, or deletion beyond what's available in the product directly, contact us at readcture@gmail.com.

Security

Data is stored with encryption at rest, and all traffic between your browser and our servers is encrypted in transit via HTTPS. Access to stored data is restricted to what the service needs to function.

Children's privacy

Readcture is not directed at, and is not intended for use by, children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
